Why should you buy this membership for $120? Well, considering that individual patterns cost $20 each and Shell Designer has 12 models built-in – that would amount to $240 if buying patterns individually. There is a multi-item discount in old system that amounts to saving $5 each, so that total would be around $180 for 12 patterns – still much higher than $120. But probably the best reason is that you get to design the shells yourself. My old system of designing patterns to sell means that the shells you create from them look almost identical to mine and others who also have that same pattern.

One of the features of Shell Designer is that the shells do not require a particular number of wedges. You get to specify how many wedges you want to use and the program will draw patterns for the number of wedges you specify. The number of wedges has to be an even number from 12 to 60. The number has to be even in order to have a flat joint across the diameter to join two halves. It’s at this stage where any error in wedge angle is removed.

There is no expiration date, it’s a one-time purchase. I’m planning on adding another program soon specifically for ammonites and nautilus (flat spirals) that will be slightly different. I plan on increasing the price when I add that, so join now before the price goes up. Having this design program on the web instead of a downloadable program provides security for my work, and you don’t lose access if your computer crashes. The program generates pdf files of the patterns which you can print out and use. You’ll need to access it on a device with a good size screen (not a phone) so the controls aren’t too small. If your device can run the free program Shell Sketch then it can also run Shell Designer. Thank you for your support. -Steve
